Associate Consultants

Dawn Martin

Dawn Martin is an organization development consultant, facilitator and trainer. She promotes organizational growth and development by providing climate assessment and strategic planning services. Dawn works with leadership teams to identify and address cultural change in areas of internal communications, management and staffing. In collaboration with managers and staff, she develops strategies for fostering positive working relationships and enhancing productivity. Dawn facilitates dialogue to enhance workplace communication and collaboration, increase job satisfaction, and optimize individual and collective productivity within schools, the public sector, corporations and nonprofit organizations. She provides mediation and facilitation support for the resolution of discreet disputes within organizations. In collaboration with clients, she develops systems and mechanisms to strengthen internal communication and conflict resolution capacities. Dawn trains mediators, facilitators, managers, judges, advocates and others globally. Training specialties include facilitation, mediation, team performance, coaching, dispute resolution program design and administration, negotiation, advocacy in mediation and the pedagogy of mediation and facilitation training.

Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Dawn founded and managed a law firm specializing in employment and immigration law. She holds a JD from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and a BA in Sociology from the University of Maryland. She is a certified as an administrator of the Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP) and the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i®). Dawn is also fluent in Spanish.

Christopher Dubia

Christopher has worked extensively for the past decade in a range of independent and private educational settings, providing institutional solutions for knowledge sharing and collaboration in a global community. Under his leadership, institutions incorporated technology as an integral feature of their administrative and academic programs. Working with development teams, Christopher created networks and platforms that increased efficiency, improved workflow, and fostered extensive collaboration and knowledge sharing using social networking tools. He is also a practicing artist and has exhibited his work extensively.

Christopher holds a BFA from the Corcoran College of Art.

Payal Mahajan

Payal is an educationist with over 15 years of experience in the field of education. She has worked in numerous capacities (teacher, administrator, adviser, consultant) in schools offering national and international curricula and has been instrumental in incubating and nurturing internationalism through systems, curriculum and people development in India, Indonesia and Canada. Payal has in-depth knowledge and experience with of CIE, IBNA and IBAP. Her training and experience have given her a global perspective and an insight into best practices and key success factors that enable her to customize services to the requirements of individual schools.

Payal is the co-founder of Art of Learning (AOL). AOL’s suite of services include establishing new schools; strategic enhancements to existing schools; review and design of school systems and work processes, curriculum and pedagogical practices. AOL also provides K-12 schools with assistance in attaining accreditation by national agencies and international agencies, such as the IB and IGCSE.

As a writer and editor, Payal co-authored a series of five General Awareness Activity books for Grades One through Five and edited a set of two workbooks in compliance with the new curriculum for a leading publishing house in India.

Payal holds a MA in History, a BEd from the Indiri Ghandi University, a BEd from York University, and a BA from Lady Shri Ram College.

Cahlan Mazur

Cahlan Mazur is a primary and middle school teacher with strong content knowledge in mathematics and science. He has exceptional ability to engage students in meaningful and relevant learning, to nurture growth in students, both as learners and as global citizens, and to help students excel academically and socially. Cahlan is an expert in inquiry-based and project-based teaching and learning. With many years of experience working in highly collaborative, transdisciplinary, dual-language immersion schools, Cahlan brings a wealth of first-hand experience and knowledge in international education, curriculum development in science and mathematics, and collaboration in transdiscplinary environments. In addition, he has extensive knowledge and experience with the development and implementation of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme.

Cahlan holds a BA in Physics from the University of Virginia and a Certificate in Elementary Education in International Schools from the George Mason University FastTrain Program. In addition, he received International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme training. Cahlan is also fluent in Spanish.

Kevin Simpson

Kevin Simpson has many years of experience working in primary and secondary schools in the United States, Laos, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Lebanon as a teacher, coach, administrator, curriculum specialist and consultant. Kevin is focused on school development, school improvement, professional development and school reform. He has participated as a team member on school quality reviews evaluating schools serving students in prekindergarten to grade twelve. He serves on quality assurance review teams worldwide with AdvancED. Kevin has served as a School Improvement Consultant with Washington, DC’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education and as a Teacher-to-Teacher National Consultant with the US Department of Education. He is owner and operator of KDSL – Know Do Serve Learn, which partners with education organizations worldwide to increase student achievement, teacher knowledge and education leadership.

Kevin holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Theory/Social Relations and Elementary Education from Michigan State University.
